About the Project
Monday is For the Girls is a sports documentary that explores the transformative impact of MLSE LaunchPad's "girls-only" programs held every Monday in downtown Toronto. Its goal is to encourage more girls to play sports and follow their dreams. This documentary was created for the 3rd year documentary class entitled RTA 994 Advanced Sport Documentary for the RTA Sport Media program at TMU.
Creative Problem
Gathering people to participate in interviews was challenging, which made gathering stories difficult. Many were hesitant to share their experience on camera, which limited the range of perspectives.
Solution
To address this challenge, we reached out to the other MLSE staff for support and worked on building relationships with potential interviewees. We focused on ensuring that all interviewees felt comfortable before filming, explaining the documentary's goal, listening to their concerns, and creating a relaxed and safe environment. This approach helped encouraged participation and made all interviews more genuine and open
Process and Development

Prior to creating our documentary, our group members created and presented a pitch to our professor and industry professionals. Additionally, I created interview questions to be asked to our on-air talent
